Background
Recently, we cared for a first-time mother (primigravida) who had been married for seven years and had a smooth, well-monitored pregnancy. All antenatal reports were normal, and she attended regular check-ups without any complications.
At 38 weeks, her cervical examination was favorable, and she was given the opportunity to go into spontaneous labor naturally. Even at 40 weeks, labor did not start. As part of safe obstetric practice, we continued close monitoring and offered her the option to wait for a few more days.
